Join our Revolution to change the worlds.

As the founder of the Celiac Global Network, I have a personal connection to the disease, having been diagnosed at a young age after experiencing a variety of health complications. This experience has driven me to create a network dedicated to raising awareness about celiac disease and supporting individuals who are affected by it.

Through the Celiac Global Network and also being an ambassador for Beyond Celiac organisation, I plan to provide educational resources and support for individuals who are diagnosed with celiac disease, as well as advocate for increased awareness and understanding of the disease within the healthcare community and among the general public. I hope to build a community of individuals passionate about supporting those with celiac disease and creating a more inclusive world for all.

The current gold standard of diagnosing Celiac Disease is a blood test followed by an endoscopy. For effective testing, it is advisable to not stop ingesting gluten before the tests.

Blood test: A blood test is done to check the antibodies level in the blood. If there are increased levels of antibodies of specific antibody proteins, it indicates an immune response to gluten(celiac disease positive). The most common test is tissue transglutaminase IgA (tTg-IgA) test. However, some people might be IgA deficient leading to false negatives which is why other tests are done as well such as tTg-IgG and DGP-IgG.

If the tests indicate positive Celiac Disease then an endoscopy is required to confirm it. There are mainly two types of endoscopy:

Normal Endoscopy: A Long tube with a camera embedded in it to take pictures of the villi in the small intestine to check if it's damaged(if damaged, then the patient is most definitely celiac positive). The tube is passed through the mouth and throat, for which the throat is made numb.

  • Capsule endoscopy: The patient swallows a capsule that has a small camera embedded in it to take pictures of the small intestine as it goes through the small intestine/digestive tract.

What we do

The Celiac Global Network was started in 2022, driven by a single goal: to do our part in making the world a better place for all celiac patients. We strive to build a productive impact with all of our pursuits. We aim to highlight important information, news, and events related to celiac disease. We also host webinars and events, from time to time with the leading celiac specialists from all around the world!  As part of our commitment to providing valuable resources to the celiac community, we have established a platform for individuals, especially celiac patients, to ask questions directly to a celiac expert on our team. Through this feature on our website, individuals can submit their inquiries and concerns or seek advice on managing celiac disease from knowledgeable professionals in the field.

Celiac Disease

This is an autoimmune disorder where the immune system attacks the body tissues when gluten is ingested. This damages the small intestine and its lining leading to malabsorption. Some symptoms of celiac disease can be diarrhea, abdominal pain, and bloating.

Currently, there is no permanent cure for celiac hence, this is considered a lifelong disorder and the only solution is a lifelong gluten-free diet.
